Delhi Weather: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rain and strong winds for the next 24 hours in Delhi. The department told that the weather condition in Delhi is going to change soon. In such a situation, people are being instructed to be cautious about it. Last night, rain along with thunder was also seen in many districts of UP including Delhi. Now the Meteorological Department has once again issued an alert regarding the weather. It is clear from this that the period of strong wind and rain will continue in Delhi even today.
According to media reports, after battling the scorching heat in the month of May, the people of Delhi heaved a sigh of relief on Thursday with rain as well as thunderstorm and strong winds. Due to this, the maximum temperature in the capital was recorded at 36.9 degree Celsius. Today, the maximum temperature in the capital was recorded at 36 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature was 21 degree Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the effect of active Western Disturbance over the Western Himalayan region, there is a possibility of intermittent rain in North-West India including Delhi and its surrounding areas in the next two to three days.
It rained in Bihar
It rained at some places in Bihar during the last 48 hours, providing some respite to the people from the scorching heat. It rained in state capital Patna, Sheikhpura, Nawada, Jamui, Vamiki Nagar. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the state. Also, light rain is expected on Friday with strong wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph. Rains are expected to continue in South Bihar till Friday and in North-East Bihar till Sunday. The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 34-38 degrees Celsius in most parts of Bihar state today.
Landslide due to rain in Himachal
Moderate rainfall was recorded in many areas of Himachal Pradesh, which led to landslides and blocked roads. According to the Meteorological Department, 11 roads in Himachal’s Sirmaur, three in Kullu, two each in Chamba and Shimla and one in Kangra have been closed for vehicular movement. Also, electricity service has also been affected. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places from May 26 to 28. Yellow alert has also been issued for this.
Rains keep cool in Punjab, Haryana
It rained in parts of Punjab and Haryana on Thursday, which brought down the temperature. A dust storm also lashed Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, and its surrounding areas on Thursday afternoon. Also, the maximum temperature at most places in both the states hovered between 31°C and 34°C, which was below normal limits. In many parts of Punjab and Haryana, it rained during the night as well as during the day.
