Siddaramaiah to be crowned Karnataka CM, Shivakumar to be deputy CM

The Congress high command has taken a decision after four consecutive days of tussle over the Chief Minister in Karnataka. Siddaramaiah will be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka and Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar has been given the charge of Deputy CM. The Congress party will hold a Legislature Party meeting in Bengaluru this evening. At the same time, the swearing-in ceremony will be held on May 20 at 12.30 pm in Bengaluru.

Congress Legislature Party meeting today

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting has been called in Bengaluru at 7 pm today. All India Congress Committee (AICC) central observers Sushil Kumar Shinde, Deepak Bawaria and Bhanwar Jitendra Singh have been asked to reach Bengaluru for the CLP meeting. Siddaramaiah will be elected as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party at a meeting to be held in Bengaluru this evening. With this, the discussion on cabinet formation is also almost complete. Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge worked till late Wednesday night to form the government in Karnataka.

Swearing in ceremony will be held here

Siddaramaiah will be given the charge of CM of Karnataka for the second time after the churning of the CM face in Karnataka for so many days. He has held the office of the Chief Minister of the state from 2013 to 2018. The swearing-in ceremony of Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar will be held at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. The preparations for the program are going on in full swing.

There was a churn on the tenure of two-and-a-half years

According to media reports, in the churning that lasted for four days, the tenure of two and a half years for DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah’s CM (CM) was also discussed. However, in this Karnataka Congress President Shivakumar (DK Shivakumar) had said that I should be allowed to complete the first two and a half year term. After this the next term should be given to Siddaramaiah. Also, he had said that I should be given the first term or else nothing is acceptable to me. At the same time, he had refused for the first Deputy CM as well. However, now he cannot say anything about the conditions on which he has agreed.
