News2News.in Explainer: After crossing the majority mark in the Karnataka Assembly Elections, the confidence of the Indian National Congress has increased a lot. The Congress party is looking at the way to the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 through the victory in these elections. Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge said that now South India has become BJP free. Also, it is now being claimed that the party will perform similarly in the elections of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Somewhere in these states, the custom of change of power has been seen in five years, while in some states the same government has completed several terms. In such a situation, if the Congress wants to win in this politics of ‘custom and change’, then it will have to step in with a bang. So let’s tell what is the reason for this…

Congress could not retain its government

According to media reports, if we look at the recent elections, the states where the Congress was in power had to face defeat when the elections were held. For example, if we talk about the assembly elections in Punjab, the Congress had to face defeat there. Although the Congress defeated the ruling BJP to form the government in Himachal, but the question arises whether it will be able to form the government again in the Congress ruled states or not.

Congress party won in Himachal

Himachal Pradesh also has a tradition of changing party in five years, where BJP was in power from 2018 to 2022. On the other hand, continuing this tradition, the Congress made a dent in the BJP’s fort and the party formed its government in Himachal with an absolute majority. To win this election, the Congress party focused on local issues, such as the pension scheme of local employees, inflation and unemployment, infighting and farmers’ rebellion had spoiled the Bharatiya Janata Party’s game here.

Congress in power in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh is going to prove to be the most challenging state for the Bharatiya Janata Party. The impact of Karnataka assembly elections can also be seen in Chhattisgarh assembly elections. In Karnataka, the BJP kept Narendra Modi at the center and tried to fight the elections on national issues. However, the Congress party focused mostly on local issues. In Chhattisgarh, the tradition of changing power every 5 years is not maintained. BJP has been ruling here from 2003 to 2018. In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress focused more on local issues and came to power. This time also CM Bhupesh Baghel is focusing on local issues only.

Will Congress return again in Rajasthan?

After the victory in Karnataka, the most important question for the Congress party is how to remain in power in Rajasthan. Elections are due in the state by the end of the year. Here also the practice of changing the government every five years is maintained. According to media reports, this is a chance for the BJP to come back to power in Rajasthan. At the same time, the Congress party is claiming that it will completely change this practice this time. For the last three decades, it has been a practice in the state that once the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power, then the Congress government is formed. The last time the BJP regained power was only in the year 1993 under the leadership of Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.

Whose government will be formed in Madhya Pradesh

At present, the Bharatiya Janata Party government is formed in the Karnataka elections. Not only this, this time BJP will have to struggle hard to save the government in Madhya Pradesh. In the year 2018, the government also had to be thrown out of power. However, it is a different matter that a rebellion within the Congress led by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia brought the BJP to power. In view of the elections, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is coming up with different schemes for women, youth and farmers.

Congress was defeated in Punjab

In the Punjab assembly elections 2022, the Congress party had to face a crushing defeat. During this time there were many reasons on which the Congress party could not focus properly and had to lose power. This includes the major Channi and Sidhu controversy, the issue of illegal mining, no action in the drug case and Captain Amarinder Singh leaving the Congress party. Simultaneously, the Aam Aadmi Party was able to gain power there.

Mallikarjun Kharge’s height increased

Karnataka for Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge (Karnataka) It was a litmus test to win in as it is their home state. Kharge has won Karnataka after Himachal under the chairmanship of the Congress party. On the one hand, many people are looking at these elections by linking them with Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. Kharge also said that ever since the Bharat Jodo Yatra started, the downfall of the BJP has started. He said that the people of Karnataka have understood the issues raised during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. He claimed that in other states where elections are due, the Congress would win with a thumping majority.
