Yamunanagar news:Two people were cheated of Rs 20 lakh by the hotel operator by posing as fake mining officials to get them mining jobs. Following a complaint from the hotel operator, the police opened a case against two defendants for fraud and initiated an investigation.

Police sources said that Model Town resident Sanjeev Sharma had stated in the complaint lodged with the police that he had a hotel named Hotel and Food Plaza in the city. In May 2021, Sikandar and Aditya Pal, residents of Kaithal, met him at his hotel. He already had acquaintance with Sikandar. He told them that Aditya Pal was a mining officer. He can get them mining jobs. He trusted Alexander and agreed to take the mining job. A few days later, both the accused reached the hotel again and said that carrying out the mining work would cost Rs 15 to 20 lakh. At this point, he deposited Rs 4,00,000 into the account of the accused by check at various times. Thereafter, Rs 2,000 33,000 were transferred from his wife Aarti’s bank account and Rs 1 lakh 83,000 were transferred from his own bank account through Google Pay. Thereafter, the accused took away Rs 10 lakh in cash and two Apple phones from him on the pretext of paying taxes.

It is alleged that the defendants neither returned their money nor carried out the mining operations as promised. When he protested, the defendant threatened to kill him. Frustrated, he complained to the police. Following Sanjeev’s complaint, the police registered a case against the accused Sikandar and Aditya Pal for cheating and initiated an investigation.
