Police pursued the accused and searched his hiding places, whereupon the accused received a call from the complainant shortly afterwards that he had been joking about claiming Chauth. The defendant was identified as Ankit, a resident of Sector 13 Thanesar Kurukshetra. The investigation revealed that the accused, who is asking for Chauth, is known to the complainant.
