Sonipat: Body of naked girl found in canal, could not be identified

Sonipat: Police have recovered the naked body of a girl from the NCR Water Channel canal near Bhadana village in Sadar police station area. The police took the body into custody, conducted an autopsy and kept it in the dissection room. The girl’s body could not be identified. The girl has a tube in her head, which is why it is suspected that she is mentally disabled. The police will now contact neurosurgeons at Sonipat, Panipat and Karnal and try to identify the girl’s body.

According to the information received, the body of a girl is lying in the NCR water canal passing near Bhadana village. Following this, Sadar police station reached the spot and took the body into custody. Investigating officer of the case, ASI Sanjeev Kumar, said that the girl’s age is around 10 years. There were no clothes on his body. A thread of small beads was found on his right hand. A copper bracelet was also found. The body was mutilated because it was in the water. When the police conducted the post-mortem at the Civil Hospital, the doctor said that a tube was inserted in the girl’s head. It therefore appears that she may have been mentally retarded. In such a situation, police will seek information about the girl from neurosurgeons from Sonipat as well as Panipat and Delhi. So that efforts can be made to identify the girl. The police removed the entrails from the body and sent them for examination. Initial investigations revealed that the girl died from drowning. However, the exact cause of death will be revealed in the viscera report. Police station in-charge Karmjeet said efforts to identify the body have been intensified. Karnal and Panipat police were contacted.
