Gurugram: In Sector 29 area, fraudsters cheated a youth of Rs 27.5 lakh by giving him an old BMW. The victim also accused the company representatives of complicity in the fraud. At the victim’s request, the police opened a case and initiated an investigation.

In the complaint lodged with the police, Shrestha Sharma, a resident of DLF Phase-4, Gurugram, said that in August 2023, Deepak Kumar alias Jimmy sent a message on his phone that the car was for sale. During the conversation, Deepak promised to gift her a BMW X-5 and a Fortuner. For this, Deepak got Rs 27.5 lakh deposited in his account. Furthermore, Deepak also sent him to BMW’s Mohan Cooperative on Mathura Road on December 3 to gift him a new BMW X-5. There, a young man named Prashant showed him the car and also let him talk to Deepak on the phone. Deepak had said to give this car for 80,000 lakh 93,000 rupees. But he neither got a car nor did he get the money back. Shrestha found the specified office on Deepak’s Instagram and when he went there, there was no office there.
