Haryana News: Inspired by PM Narendra Modi’s idea to auction the gifts he received and use the donations received for the common good, the gift portal created by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has garnered tremendous response. The donation from the auction of gifts received from the Prime Minister will only be used for the benefit of society. A total of 51 gifts auctioned through Uphaar portal have received a donation of Rs 1 crore 14 lakh 95,000.

The Additional Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister and Director General for Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture, Dr. Amit Agarwal said the 3D printed statue of Manohar Lal was bid at Rs 21 lakh. A bid was made for Rs. 41,000 6,000 for the Arjun Rath figurine, Rs. 80,000 5,000 for the Kamakhya Devalaya figurine and Rs. 75,000 1,000 for the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple idol. He said the amount received from the gifts would be paid into the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and spent on public welfare work.

dr Aggarwal said Prime Minister Manohar Lal decided to auction the gifts given by social organizations or individuals as a mark of respect during various programs. Following this initiative by Manohar Lal, the Chief Minister’s Gift Portal was launched and 51 gifts were auctioned in the first phase up to February 28th. He said the base amount of each gift was mentioned on Chief Minister Uphaar’s portal. He said that soon after the completion of the first phase auction process, the Chief Minister himself will honorably present the gifts from his Lotus to the bidders. If the bidder wishes, he can also collect the gift by courier.
