The Asian Wrestling Championship 2023 will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan this time from April 9th ​​to 14th. The players will now have to prove their weight in the trials taking place in Delhi on March 10th and 11th. There will be trials in 10 weight classes for freestyle, Greco-Roman wrestling and women’s wrestling. Only medalists from various international events in 2022 and 2023 are eligible. A total of 161 wrestlers are eligible to participate. Of these, 55 wrestlers are approved for the freestyle, 47 for the Greco-Roman and 59 for the women’s ring. Attorney Rakesh Singh Koch, secretary-general of Haryana Wrestling Association, said the trials would take place on two mats at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. Freestyle and Greco-Roman will take place on March 10th and for female wrestlers on March 11th. The selection committee will be chaired by MC Mary Kom while Yogeshwar Dutt and Babita Phogat will be its members.

In the 57 kg freestyle, Aman, Udit, Rahul Delhi, Atish, Ravi Kumar and Abhishek Dhaka will be able to compete. While in 61kg Pankaj Services, Rahul Aware, Ravindra Haryana, Suraj Kokte and Mohit Kumar are eligible for exams. Apart from that, Vishal Kaliraman, Mulayam Yadav, Sonu, Parvindra and Naveen are eligible for the 70kg exam. With 74 kg, Sagar Jaglan, Nar Singh Yadav, Pritam, Yash Tushir and Jaideep can complete trials. However, in 79 kg Jitendra Railway, Pradeep Chandigarh, Mandeep Delhi, Deepak Services and Gaurav Balyan can conduct trials. And in 86 kg, Vicky Haryana, Jonty Kumar UP, Sanjit Services, Rahul Rathi Railway and Deepak Poonia are eligible for trials. Apart from that, Prithviraj Patil Maharashtra, Pravin Railway, Pravin Haryana, Anil Delhi and Vicky will be able to give attempts in 92 kg. While in 97kg, Sahil Punjab, Satyavrat Kadian, Kapil, Sahil Delhi, Neeraj, Ashish and Deepak Nehra will be able to give exams. Apart from that Dinesh Services, Akash Antil, Dharmendra Punjab, Anirudh Delhi and Mahendra Gaikwad are approved for exams in 125kg.

And in 62 kg Sangeeta Railway, Sumitra Delhi, Sanika Himachal, Vaishnavi Maharashtra, Sakshi Malik, Manisha, Sonam Malik and Sarika are eligible for exams. While Bhateri Services, Monia Railway, Monika Rajasthan, Jaspreet Kaur Punjab and Priyanka can give attempts in 65kg. And in 68 kg Radhika Haryana, Pratiksha Maharashtra, Annu Rajasthan, Nisha Railway, Divya Kakran and Arju are eligible for exams. While in 72kg Ritika Haryana, Nikki Railway, Rajni UP and N Tombi Devi Manipur will be able to give trials. And in 76 kg, Kiran Railway, Bipasha Delhi, Rani Himachal, Sudesh Kumari Haryana, Pooja Sihag and Priya are eligible for exams.
