Haryana: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda said that the government could not give satisfactory answers to the opposition’s questions in the Assembly. Since the government has neither work nor successes to show, it deliberately kept the duration of the meetings short. He showed the government the mirror with data on unemployment. Today, Haryana is grappling with the highest unemployment rate in the country. Figures from governments and private organizations have confirmed this for several years.

He said that the central government itself had stated in Parliament that the unemployment rate in Haryana was 2.9 per cent during the Congress government in 2013-14, today it has increased more than three times to around 9 per cent. While the unemployment rate nationally is 4.1 percent. This means that unemployment in Haryana is more than twice the national average. Now the government claims that the unemployment rate has fallen. It is surprising that the government is touting this quota as an achievement. However, these figures also show that the unemployment rate has increased under the BJP-JJP government and the current government cannot match the Congress in terms of job creation. Today, due to unemployment, the youth of Haryana are forced to leave their state and country and migrate. Programs like Agneepath and Haryana Skill Corporation deprive the youth of permanent jobs. Educated youth are exploited by contracting them and paying them low salaries. If the Congress government is formed, the policy of hiring youth on contract basis will be discontinued and there will be confirmed recruitment for 2000,000 posts.

He said that during the tenure of the present government, the future of the youth was not secured and that is why they were going abroad (illegally) by investing hundreds of rupees and harnessing a donkey. Instead of stopping this migration, the government is encouraging it. The government is sending the youth of Haryana to Israel as laborers. He asked the question: Why does the BJP-JJP want to send Haryanvi youths to war-hit Israel? This is the same Israel where a war with Hamas is taking place. Just a few days ago, many countries had safely evacuated their citizens from here. Similarly, the government has also decided to send unemployed people to the Gulf countries. Thousands of cases of exploitation and atrocities against workers have come to light in these Gulf states. In these countries, workers have no rights and continue to be subjected to inhumane atrocities.

He said that on the one hand, the present government is forcing Haryanvis to migrate but on the other hand, it is also continuously recruiting non-Haryanvis for higher positions. Does the government not consider the people of Haryana worthy of being appointed to higher offices? In the House, the Prime Minister puts his hand on Geeta and vows to catch the corrupt. But the truth is something else. This government’s recruitment scams are not lost on anyone. In 2017, the Supreme Court had ordered a surveillance investigation into fisheries recruitment, but there is no trace of this investigation to date. When the Haryana Staff Selection Commission office was raided in April 2018, many employees were caught for manipulating the recruitment results. During the interrogation, the employees revealed the tariff list for all positions. However, despite these major revelations, the government did not take any action or investigate people who held high positions. When action was filed in this case, the court expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation and clearly said that efforts were being made to save some people.

Supporting the demands of the striking vegetable market traders, the former chief minister said that the Congress government has abolished market fees for the vegetable market. But the BJP-JJP government introduced a 2 percent tax in 2020 in the name of corona tax. But Corona is over, but the tax is still levied like this. This government has decided to levy the tax once a year instead of monthly, which has increased the burden on traders. Due to the increase in mandi fees, inflation is putting an additional burden on the population. If the Congress government is formed, market fees will be exempted again.
