New Delhi: A young man committed suicide by hanging himself from the fan in the Oyo Hotel room located in Neb Sarai area of Delhi. The deceased has been identified as Rahul (23). He was a resident of Dakshinpuri Extension. Investigation also revealed that the hotel was running without a license for the last one year. Meanwhile, a fake policeman was found living next to the room where the youth had committed suicide.
According to the police, on the intervening night of March 12-13, a call regarding suicide was received at Relax Oyo Hotel, Deoli Road. Police reached the spot and took the dead body of the young man from room number 101. It was learned that he had stayed in this hotel on March 11 with a youth named Saurabh. On the morning of March 12, he had vacated the hotel room, but the same evening around five o’clock he came to the hotel to stay alone. The police have not recovered any suicide note from him. His relatives have been informed regarding the incident. The body has been kept at AIIMS Hospital for postmortem.
Fake policeman caught during investigation
During the investigation of this case, the police searched the CCTV cameras installed in the hotel. During this, in a footage, a man was seen wearing a police uniform. He was staying in room number 206 along with a woman. On enquiry, he told his name as Nawab Singh. He was a resident of Ashok Nagar, Mandoli. Nawab introduced himself to the hotel staff as a Delhi Police constable posted at Jyoti Nagar police station. When the police wanted to see his ID card, he could not present it. No constable of this name was found posted in Jyoti Nagar police station. Later he told that he is a civil defense volunteer of Shahdara district. A case of forgery has been registered against him.
