On refusing to marry in New Seelampur area of Delhi, a madman barged into the house of a 20-year-old girl and slit her throat with a knife. The accused absconded after the incident. Later the injured girl named Shabeela was admitted to GTB Hospital. After first aid, the police recorded the statements of the injured, after which a case of attempt to murder was registered against the accused Raja. The police are now raiding possible locations in search of him.
According to the police, the relationship of the injured girl with Raja was fixed about five months back. Shabila later learns that Raja is a drug addict, so she refuses to marry him. Since then the king was constantly threatening him. If he did not do so, he and his family were being threatened with death. Even after this, Shabeela did not agree to marry him. Shabila was alone at home on Tuesday night at around 9.30 pm, when the accused reached there. He started pressuring her to marry Shabeela.
During this, he also misbehaved with Shabeela and on hearing repeated refusal for marriage, he got so angry that he took out a knife from his pocket and slit Shabeela’s throat. On hearing screams, the accused ran away from there. On coming to know about the incident, the neighbors informed Shabila’s mother about the incident. Later he was taken to the hospital. The condition of the girl is being told out of danger.
