Delhi Liquor Scam: Sisodia met ailing wife a day before Diwali, court gave 6 hours’ time

Manish Sisodia Meets Wife At Home: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia reached his ailing wife Seema’s residence on Saturday. A day earlier, the Rouse Avenue court had allowed Sisodia to meet his wife. You will be able to stay with leader Seema Sisodia from 10 am to 4 pm. However, the court has directed Manish that during this period he will not meet the media or any other politician and will not issue any statement.

Sisodia had asked for five days’ time

Manish Sisodia had filed a petition in the court on November 9, seeking five days’ time to meet his ailing wife. According to the application, on April 25, his wife suffered an acute attack of multiple sclerosis and was diagnosed with psychological problems. The court said that it was already on record that Sisodia’s wife was suffering from multiple sclerosis for the last 20 years. Earlier in June 2023, Manish Sisodia met his wife Seema Sisodia after 103 days.

Sisodia, a senior AAP leader, had also held the post of deputy chief minister, besides holding several portfolios, including the excise department, in the Arvind Kejriwal government before his arrest by the CBI in February. After being arrested, he resigned as Deputy Chief Minister and minister of various departments, but his family lived at his then official residence on Mathura Road, which he shared with Education Minister Atishi.

It was alleged by investigating agencies that the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22 for granting licenses to liquor traders allowed cartelization and favored some dealers, who paid bribes for it. However, the Aam Aadmi Party has repeatedly denied these allegations.
