Delhi Flood: Drinking water crisis deepens due to flood in Delhi, long jam somewhere… read advisory

Delhi floods:Yamuna River has started showing its fierce form in Delhi. Due to this, the life of the people has become chaotic. The water level of the Yamuna river is at its highest ever level of 208.52 metres. People are also facing a lot of difficulties to move from one place to another. Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for the people. Along with this, the MCD has also issued an advisory regarding cremation grounds. At the same time, due to floods, three water plants have been closed for a limited time.

Traffic police urged people to avoid these routes

Delhi Traffic Police has urged Delhiites to avoid three roads. These include Mahatma Gandhi Marg between IP flyover and Chandgi Ram Akhara, Kalighat Mandir Marg and Outer Ring Road between Wazirabad. Movement of commercial vehicles has also been heavily restricted to control the traffic. These vehicles will not be allowed to enter Delhi and several vehicles have been diverted so that they do not block traffic on the affected stretches of Ring Road and Outer Ring Road.

Commercial vehicles will be diverted from Mukarba Chowk. No commercial vehicle will be allowed between Mukarba Chowk and Wazirabad Bridge. Commercial vehicles will also be diverted from Sarai Kale Khan. No such vehicle will be allowed between Sarai Kale Khan and IP flyover. They will be diverted towards DND from Ghazipur border as well as from Akshardham.

Delhi Traffic Police has asked people to follow the advisory to avoid any inconvenience. Despite the rise in the water level of Yamuna, the Delhi Metro is running smoothly. There is no obstruction of any kind in it.

Advisory issued for cremation grounds as well

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has issued an advisory regarding cremation grounds in the city in view of the rising water level of the Yamuna river. The MCD asked them not to use the Nigambodh Ghat cremation ground as the rising water level of the Yamuna river could hamper the cremation. People have been advised to use the nearest cremation grounds like Panchkuian Road, Sat Nagar, Punjabi Bagh, Green Park, Dakshinpuri or any cremation ground near their locality.

The Yamuna River in Delhi reached a staggering height of 208.52 meters on Thursday morning, surpassing the previous record. Along with this, the people of Delhi are also facing water crisis. The rising water level has submerged nearby roads and infrastructure, severely affecting residents living close to the river. Meanwhile, water plants at Wazirabad, Chandrawal and Okhla have also been temporarily closed. On water supply, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that all these water plants will start functioning again after the Yamuna water recedes.
