Delhi Yamuna Flood: Yamuna’s water level reached 208.46 meters, these areas are most affected, see list

Delhi Yamuna Flood: The water level of Delhi’s Yamuna River reached 208.46 meters today i.e. Thursday morning. It broke the highest ever record of 207.49 metres. The water had reached 207.99 meters on Tuesday night itself. Due to floods in Yamuna, all the major drains have completely stopped their flow. If the water level rises further, there is a possibility of water from drains spreading in Delhi.

These areas are more affected

Several low-lying areas near the Yamuna River have been affected, causing water-logging on roads and traffic jams. Garhi Mandu village near Signature Bridge in Wazirabad has been inundated. The areas which have been affected the most include Kashmere Gate, GT Karnal Road, Boat Club, Math Bazar, Neeli Chhatri Mandir, Yamuna Bazar, Neem Karoli Gaushala, Vishwakarma Colony, Majnu Ka Tila and New Usmanpur, Shastri Park, old stretch between Wazirabad. Yamuna Pul, Nigam Bodh Ghat Road, Sonia Vihar, Mandawali, Pandav Nagar, Gandhinagar, Geeta Colony, Geeta Ghat, Vishwakarma Khadda Colony and Garhi Mandu.

If the water level of the Yamuna river rises further, the areas which will be more affected are Laxmi Nagar, Sarai Kale Khan, Badarpur, Jamia Nagar, Shaheen Bagh, Mayur Vihar, Badarpur Khadar, DND, Pushta, Main Yamuna Road in Jagatpur, Sarai Kale Khan includes the slums around Bhelopur cremation ground, Gayaspur and Millennium Depot.

CM Kejriwal urged people

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday urged people living in low-lying areas near the Yamuna river to move out immediately. He said that water will enter your houses. It won’t take long. Also, he said that it would be dangerous for you and your family’s life. He said don’t risk your life, get out of there immediately.
