Delhi Police’s Special Cell has caught a printing setup for printing fake notes in Loni, Ghaziabad. A person has also been arrested in this connection. Fake notes worth Rs 6,71,500 have been recovered from it. At the same time, raw-material for printing fake notes worth five crores has been recovered.

According to DCP Rajeev Ranjan Singh, the team led by Inspectors Vinay Pal and Arvind Singh, under the supervision of ACPs Lalit Mohan Negi and Hriday Bhushan, busted this fake note printing unit. The name of the arrested person is Prashant alias Virat. The seized fake notes include 2000, 500 and 200 notes. The accused was earlier involved in two fake note cases in Ghaziabad and Meerut.

Recently it was reported that the business of printing fake notes is being done by Prashant Loni. Thereafter efforts were made to track his movements and unearth the illegal setup. A delivery of counterfeit notes was detected on 8 May at Mahatma Gandhi Road, Indraprastha Park, Delhi. Consequently, a trap was laid and Prashant Kumar s/o Padam Lal r/o Thrissur, Greater Chennai, Tamil Nadu was apprehended late evening.

On interrogation of the accused person, it was found that he used to sell a fake note of Rs.100 at the rate of Rs.30. He had set up the printing of fake notes by taking a rented place in Loni. The family of the accused consists of mother, father and a sister. He could not pass class 10th and used to do AC repair work. In 2013 he came to Delhi and started working as a Car AC mechanic. In 2015, he was caught with a stolen motorcycle by Ghaziabad’s Sihani Gate police and sent to jail. During his stay in jail, he met a person named Amit, who printed fake notes. Learned the process of printing fake notes from him and after coming out of jail, he started printing fake Indian currency using a color photocopy machine.

In 2018, he was found using fake currency in a market in Kavi Nagar area of ​​Ghaziabad. At the same time the police caught it. Rs 2.5 lakh was recovered from his house. A case was registered in this regard in Kavi Nagar Ghaziabad. During interrogation, the accused told that after coming out of jail in early 2020, he again started printing fake Indian currency notes. However, he was again arrested by the Meerut police. At that time also Rs 2.5 lakh was recovered from him.
