Members of the main opposition BJP created ruckus over the agenda presented in the House meeting of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Tuesday. Mayor Shelly Oberoi (Mayor Shelly Oberoi) reminded the BJP members that they did not do anything for 15 consecutive years of corporation rule when they did not agree even after convincing several times. All the proposals presented in the meeting were passed except one.
After the House meeting, the Mayor said that whenever he talks in the interest of Delhi, he (BJP) starts a ruckus. Very important issues were to be discussed in the house on the mountains of garbage and cleanliness of Delhi, but the BJP councilors did not allow the house to function. He said that very important proposals like constitution of education-specific committees, stationery and books for MCD students, supply of medicines etc. were passed in the House.
He said that we have to do all the work which BJP could not do in the last 15 years, we have to present the model of an ideal MCD in front of the public, because even after the last 15 years of misrule, BJP is trying to stop the works of the public. Has been In the last house meeting also we wanted to discuss the agenda, but there was paucity of time due to Mayor-Deputy Mayor elections. In such a situation, the house was adjourned. He said that the BJP corporators tried to create hurdles without respecting the decorum of the House.

At the same time, Deputy Mayor Ale Mohammad Iqbal said that for the first time in the history, the opposition did not allow the condolence motion to be read in the House by creating ruckus. Leader of the House Mukesh Goyal said that today we wanted to run the House very peacefully. It was also decided that how many councilors would speak from which party in the house, but as soon as they reached the house, the BJP members started creating ruckus. It is a matter of great shame that our soldiers were martyred inside Chhattisgarh in the past. A condolence resolution had been brought for him, but the BJP people did not allow him to read it. At last, in the midst of huge uproar and noise, the mayor got to read the agenda and hobby message. He said that this shows how the voice of the opposition was suppressed by the BJP in 15 years.
BJP called the action unconstitutional
At the same time, the members of the BJP party have given a demand letter to the Municipal Secretary of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi demanding cancellation of the entire proceedings for running the House in an unconstitutional manner against Mayor Shelly Oberoi on Tuesday. In this regard, State BJP General Secretary Harsh Malhotra said that it is a matter of great surprise that Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi does not even know about the constitutional functioning of the House proceedings.
He has criticized the Mayor for declaring the agenda of the House meeting as approved without presenting it on the floor of the House and termed it as the result of an inexperienced Mayor running the House. He said that in this context, a delegation of 10 BJP corporators led by senior corporators Shikha Rai and Sandeep Kapoor submitted a protest letter to the corporation secretary and demanded cancellation of the proceedings of the entire meeting.
