Delhi Excise Policy Case: No relief to Manish Sisodia, judicial custody extended till April 3

Manish Sisodia: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia’s difficulties are increasing continuously. In the Delhi Liquor Policy case, the Rouse Avenue Court has extended Sisodia’s judicial custody for 14 days in the CBI case. After this decision of the court, he will now remain in judicial custody till April 3. Please tell that Manish Sisodia is currently in ED’s custody and he was produced in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court through video conferencing. After the judicial custody in the CBI case was over, Sisodia was presented in the court through video conferencing. The CBI said in the court that the investigation in the liquor policy case is still going on and is at a critical juncture, due to which the court has given 14 days more time to the CBI.

Please tell that Manish Sisodia is currently in ED custody till March 22. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court had given Manish Sisodia’s remand to the ED till March 22 last Friday. In this case, the ED had told the court that Manish Sisodia had changed his phone after the complaint of the Lieutenant Governor, but the agency has retrieved his mobile data. The ED had said that the data extracted from his mobile and email is being analysed. Along with this, many questions have to be asked to Manish Sisodia. For this, the custody of ED Sisodia was sought from the court.

At the same time, in Rouse Avenue Court, Manish Sisodia’s lawyer said that the ED has not mentioned any crime against the former Deputy Chief Minister. He said in the court that when the CBI is inquiring in this matter then what is the need for the ED to inquire. ED is now working as a proxy agency of CBI. During this, Sisodia said in the court that the ED is questioning him only for half an hour daily in the custody of the last 7 days. Sisodia further said in the court that he was interrogated till late night only on Thursday.
