Political upheaval is going on in Delhi for the last two days regarding the excise policy. Now a new twist has emerged on the excise policy of Delhi. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday approached the Supreme Court challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam. Simultaneously, Manish Sisodia’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi mentioned at 10.30 am for urgent listing of the matter before Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud.

While listing the matter, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court told Sisodia’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi that you have other remedies under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. After this, Singhvi said that such a petition was heard in the Vinod Dua case. It may be listed at the end of the board today or tomorrow. Seeing this, the CJI said that we will hear the matter today at 3.50 pm.

The CBI alleged that Sisodia and other members of the Aam Aadmi Party had given liquor licenses to some traders in exchange for bribes regarding Delhi’s excise policy. Along with this, the CBI had said after interrogation that Sisodia was not answering the questions related to the policy properly.

The CBI arrested him on Sunday evening after eight hours of questioning. After this, the CBI presented it in Rouse Avenue Court on Monday. While giving its verdict on this matter, the court has sent Manish Sisodia to CBI custody till March 4.

After the arrest of Manish Sisodia, Aam Aadmi Party workers took to the streets, along with this the police were also seen in full action mode, the police brought the situation under control by imposing section 144 outside the AAP office. On this matter, AAP leaders said that Sisodia is innocent.
