A man entered HDFC Bank located in Delhi’s Model Town area at around 2 pm on Tuesday. As soon as he entered the bank, he turned straight towards the cash counter, he told the bank employee that I want cash, withdraw the cash. On this the bank employee said that you give your check book. On this the person kept pretending to find the check book in his bag, but he could not find the check book. After this the man took out a pistol from his bag.

Everyone lost their senses on seeing the pistol. There was an atmosphere of chaos everywhere. People started running here and there. After this, that person opened fire in the bank. The matter was informed to the police. After which the police reached the spot and arrested the accused.

Today at around 02:40 pm a PCR call was received at Police Station Model Town regarding the incident of firing in HDFC Bank. On receiving information from a public person, ASI Girish, PS Model Town’s HC Roshan and HC Varun Alok, who were patrolling the area, immediately rushed to the bank branch. where they overpowered and arrested a gun-wielding robber.

On interrogation by the police, he was identified as Raja Putra Mahavar. Police have recovered 02 magazines, 07 live cartridges and 05 empty cartridges including a semi-automatic pistol from his possession. Legal action is being taken in this regard. Further, it was learned that the accused person fired 05 rounds aimed towards the roof of the bank to commit the robbery. No casualty has been reported in this incident. Further action is being taken in this matter.
