New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday demanded the President to remove Vinay Kumar Saxena from the post of LG of Delhi for criminal tendencies. AAP’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh says that LG Vinay Saxena is accused of rioting at Mahatma Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram and he has misled the court by writing a letter to avoid appearance. Since 2002, LG Vinay Saxena is facing trial for rioting at the Sabarmati Ashram. He is accused number-4 in this. The court has asked LG Vinay Saxena to present his case on March 9. On this, the LG has written a letter to the court saying that my rank and position is greater than that of the governors of other states and the LGs of union territories. That’s why I should be exempted from appearing in the court.

He said that LG is probably under misunderstanding. If he was exempted, the judge would have known this and would not have summoned him. I have appealed to the President that taking cognizance of this matter, LG Vinay Saxena should be instructed to join the court process. Sanjay Singh said that if a person sitting on the post of LG is misleading the court, then he has no right to continue in his post.

Senior AAP leader Reena Gupta said that so far in the history of Delhi, there have been retired IAS or IPS officers on the post of LG, but Prime Minister Modi has made the person accused of harassing a woman as the LG of Delhi. Whenever we keep a servant in our house, we get it verified by the police, but PM Modi sent only a person of criminal nature to protect the people of Delhi. The person who is accused of harassing women, how will he protect Delhi. For this reason, in the last few days, daily crimes against women are increasing in Delhi. I appeal to the President that a person of such criminal nature should be removed from the post of LG of Delhi.
