After several days of political tussle between BJP and Aam Aadmi Party, finally the decision of Mayor has been taken in Municipal Corporation of Delhi today. Aam Aadmi Party’s Shelly Oberoi has won the post of Mayor of Municipal Corporation of Delhi. A total of 266 votes were cast for the mayoral election. Aam Aadmi Party’s mayoral candidate Dr Shaili Oberoi got 150 votes, while BJP’s mayoral candidate Rekha Gupta got 116 votes.
Even before the result of the mayoral election came, slogans of Shelly Oberoi Zindabad started echoing in the House. On the victory of Shelly Oberoi in the Delhi MCD elections, from the CM of Delhi to all the leaders of AAP started the process of congratulating her.
CM Arvind Kejriwal congratulated
Congratulating Shelly Oberoi on her victory, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal lashed out at the BJP. He tweeted that today the people of Delhi have won and the goons have lost.
Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi congratulated
Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted that the people of Delhi have defeated the goons. Heartfelt thanks to the people of Delhi for making Shelly Oberoi win in Delhi.
Raghav Chadha said on getting the mayor of Delhi that despite the many obstacles created by the BJP, congratulations to the people of Delhi for getting your mayor. Also said that this is the victory of truth over lies and falsehood. The people of Delhi defeated the goons.
Along with this, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP tweeted that hearty congratulations to Shelly Oberoi on becoming the Mayor of Delhi. Under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, AAP’s flag hoisted in MCD.
