After several days of political tussle between the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party, the mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi was decided today. Aam Aadmi Party’s Shelly Oberoi has won the elections that have been postponed thrice in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. A total of 266 votes were cast in this election today. AAP’s Shaily Oberoi is leading with 150 votes. Along with this, BJP’s mayoral candidate Rekha Gupta got 116 votes.
With this, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi ie MCD has got its new deputy mayor. Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Mohammad Iqbal has won the election for the post of Deputy Mayor. There is an atmosphere of celebration in the Aam Aadmi Party on this victory. Along with this, the party has also expressed a sharp reaction to the BJP on this victory.
Who is Shelly Oberoi
Shelly Oberoi was fielded as the candidate for the post of Mayor on behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party. Shelly Oberoi was made the candidate from her party after much brainstorming. The public had elected Shelly as the corporator from ward number 86.
Shaili Oberoi, 39, was a visiting assistant professor at Delhi University. She is also a life member of the Indian Chamber of Commerce. He has a Doctorate in Philosophy from the School of Management Studies, Indira Gandhi National Open University. She is also a recipient of best paper award in various national and international conferences and has won gold medal in ICA conference. He completed his B.Com from Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi.

He has also got the post of Deputy Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly. Aale Iqbal was up against Irfan Malik of BJP and Mohammad Hamid of Congress in this election.
