Additional Public Prosecutor Rakesh Jaiswal said that a 13-year-old girl from a village under Pasan police station, who had gone to watch Gauri Puja program with her friends on the intervening night of January 23-24, 2020, was warming the fire with her friends. At the same time the accused Dev Pratap alias Chhotu and Shiv Kumar alias Sukumar came from their motorcycle and gang-raped her by forcefully taking her to the forest. After that, the accused left him near the school and fled.
On the report of the incident, Pasan police station registered a case against the accused and took it into consideration. After this, while taking action in the case, the police arrested both of them. Then both the accused were presented in the court. In this case Katghora Sessions Court Swarnalata Toppo Additional Sessions Judge FTSC sentenced the accused to life imprisonment after being found guilty under the POCSO Act. Along with this, he has been punished with a financial penalty of Rs. Additional Public Prosecutor Rakesh Jaiswal appeared on behalf of the Chhattisgarh government in the case.
