Raipur. ED is continuously conducting raids in Chhattisgarh for the last six months. On Wednesday, the ED raided the homes and offices of an IAS officer, excise officer and liquor traders in cases like illegal recovery of coal, money laundering, now a mess in excise rules, tax scam on liquor. On Thursday afternoon suddenly such a buzz appeared that it seemed that ED might produce some of these people in the court by evening. The court gates were closed and security beefed up, but no one was produced in the court till evening.
It is worth mentioning that the rumors about the arrest of some of the officers and businessmen who were raided on Wednesday have also spread rapidly. However, no such confirmation has been made by ED. But the way security has been increased in Raipur Medical College Hospital and District Court, it seems that ED can present the arrested people here. It was being expressed that the arrested people would first have a medical, so the police was also deployed in the medical college. But nothing like this happened.
Security was put outside the court and hospital
It is worth mentioning that there were rumors that the ED might present the accused in the court despite the Ram Navami holiday. Preparations had also started for this. A team of some lawyers had also reached around the court. Police had put extra security in the court. Policemen were also deployed from different police stations outside Mekahara. It was being said that due to the arrest, the accused would be brought to Ambedkar Hospital for medical checkup. These discussions also got wings because, earlier also whenever ED had arrested someone, they were taken to the court only after a normal checkup in the hospital.
