Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building of the country today. It will start with havan and puja in the morning. The entire program is expected to take around 7 hours. The inauguration ceremony is expected to be attended by 25 political parties and dignitaries including Chief Ministers (CMs) and ministers. About 60 religious leaders have also been invited in this programme. Along with this, 20 opposition parties have boycotted the ceremony. At the same time, the Delhi Traffic Police urged people to plan their travel well in advance and avoid going to New Delhi district from 5:30 am to 3 pm. On the eve of the mega event, PM Modi received a sengol from Tamil Nadu adhanams (heads of Hindu monasteries) at his residence. Sengol holds significance as a sacred symbol of the transfer of power in 1947.

According to media reports, after the puja, the dignitaries will inspect the premises of the Lok Sabha chamber and the Rajya Sabha chamber in the new building and after the Havan, Sengol was installed near the speaker’s chair in the Lok Sabha chamber. Along with this, dignitaries from Tamil Nadu including the person who designed Sengol were also present.

Ashwini Vaishnav said – Parliament is the temple of democracy

At the inauguration ceremony of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that our Parliament is the temple of our democracy. There was a time when Rahul Gandhi tore our government, our PM’s ordinance in front of the public and weakened our democracy. Opposition parties have always tried to weaken democracy. He thanked PM Modi that he has strengthened the democratic institutions. Also, said that the opposition should attend the ceremony and reconsider its decision.

Delhi Police made tight security arrangements

Devendra Pathak, Special CP, Law and Order, says that 8,000-10,000 policemen have been deployed to ensure that there are no disturbances in the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building. Along with this, vigilance has also been increased at all the borders. The premises of the new Parliament House have been surrounded by several security levels. Not only Delhi Police but other security agencies are also keeping a close watch on this.
