Chardham Yatra 2023: The pilgrimage to Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath in Uttarakhand’s holy Char Dham started from April 22, but due to fresh weather, this journey has been stopped. Actually, there is heavy snowfall in Kedarnath and Badrinath, while it is raining heavily in the lower areas. Due to this Srinagar Police has stopped the Char Dham Yatra. Pilgrims are not being allowed to go beyond here. Passengers are being appealed to stay in the surrounding areas.

According to the officials concerned, Char Dham Yatris are being stopped near NIT Uttarakhand and Badrinath bus stand. Checking points have been made there. Giving information, Srinagar SHO Ravi Saini said that in Srinagar Garhwal police have set up checking points near NIT Uttarakhand and near Badrinath bus stand. Char Dham Yatris are being stopped there and those who have made online booking for night stay will be allowed to proceed towards Rudraprayag. At the same time, appeals are being made to the passengers who have not made bookings to stay in Srinagar only. Ravi Saini said that there are proper arrangements for stay in Srinagar, the passengers will not face any kind of problem. Passengers are being appealed to continue their journey when the weather clears.

Char Dham Yatra 2023: Badrinath Highway closed

Meanwhile, the Chamoli police said that the Badrinath Highway has also been closed due to debris coming from the hill at Bajpur in Kotwali Chamoli area. Furthermore, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami advised devotees to plan pilgrimage only after passing all medical tests, including for COVID-19. The Chief Minister said that those undertaking the pilgrimage would have to follow the SOP issued by the State Government.

Registration is mandatory for Char Dham Yatra

Please tell that the doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham have opened. It is mandatory to register for Char Dham Yatra this year. Please tell that in view of the weather conditions, the registration process for Kedarnath has been stopped till May 3.
