Badrinath Dham: Amidst the chants of Jai Badri Vishal and the melodious tunes of the Army Band, the doors of Badrinath Dham opened at 7.10 am on April 27. On the auspicious occasion of the opening of the doors of Badrinath, one of the Char Dhams of Uttarakhand, there was a lot of gaiety and enthusiasm among the devotees. It has been snowing heavily in Badrinath since morning, yet hundreds of devotees have reached the shrine.

Before the opening of the doors of Badrinath Dham, the temple is decorated with 15 quintals of marigold flowers. Devotees from across the country have gathered at the Badrinath temple to offer prayers to the Lord. It is raining and snowing in Badrinath and Kedarnath temple areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that rain and snowfall will continue for the next few days and pilgrims visiting the shrines have been asked to take necessary precautions.

Char Dham Yatra 2023

The portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri were opened on April 22, the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. On Tuesday, April 25, the doors of Kedarnath Dham opened and the first puja was performed in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The puja was performed by the Rawal Bhimashankar Linga, the priest Shivalinga and the Dharmacharyas. The Char Dham Yatra, one of the most auspicious pilgrimages in the country, began on April 22. The Char Dhams of Uttarakhand include Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Kedarnath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Gangotri Temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and Yamunotri Temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that every possible effort has been made to make the Char Dham Yatra easy and safe for the pilgrims. Social organizations and voluntary organizations have also extended full cooperation for the yatra. Based on the experience of the previous years, work has been done to advance the travel system. On the other hand, while giving information, the officials concerned said that registration for Kedarnath Yatra has been stopped in Haridwar and Rishikesh after heavy rains and snowfall. However, after the opening of the Kedarnath temple on Tuesday, April 25, registered pilgrims have been allowed to proceed towards Rudraprayag.
