Ankita murder case: In Uttarakhand’s famous Ankita Bhandari murder case, Ankita’s father has accused the public prosecutor and demanded his removal. Ankita’s father Virendra Singh Bhandari says that the public prosecutor, who is pursuing the murder case, is trying to weaken the case. Because in this case a witness Vivek Arya had said in his statement on May 4 that Ankita was sexually assaulted by Pulkit Arya before she was murdered. Regarding this, Ankita’s father has claimed that the public prosecutor has recorded the statements distorted.
Regarding this, Ankita’s father Virendra Singh Bhandari has written a letter to the District Magistrate accusing the government lawyer. It has been said that the public prosecutor is trying to save the criminals, so they should be removed from this case by June 5. Ankita’s father also wrote in the letter that if the public prosecutor is not removed from the matter by June 5, he along with the villagers will stage a sit-in at the District Magistrate’s office on June 6. The next hearing of the matter is going to be held on June 9. After this Pauri District Magistrate Ashish Kumar Chauhan told that a proper report has been sought from the Deputy Collector on the complaint letter. As soon as the report is received, it will be investigated and appropriate legal action will be taken.

On 18 September 2022, 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari, who worked at Vanantra Resort in Laxmanjhula police station area of Uttarakhand, was murdered by throwing her into the Chilla canal. After investigation, two of his accomplices including Pulkit Arya were found to be involved in the incident and all the accused were taken into police custody. There were many revelations in this case, in which it was found that Ankita Bhandari was asked to provide extra service to the VIPs who came there.
