Police on Friday doubled the reward amount for Saddam, brother-in-law of mafia Atiq Ahmed, brother of Atiue Ahmed, in connection with the conspiracy to murder Umesh Pal. On 17 April, IG Range Dr Rakesh Singh announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Saddam, Ashraf’s brother-in-law. After this, now the police (UP Police) has doubled this amount.

Circle Officer, Bareilly Zone, Ashish Pratap Singh said that Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) PC Meena on Friday announced a cash reward of Rs one lakh to the person giving information about Saddam. Umesh Pal, the main witness in the murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal, and his police security guards Sandeep Nishad and Raghavendra Singh were shot dead on February 24 outside their house in Dhumanganj, Prayagraj. After the murder, an FIR was lodged against Saddam, Ashraf, his henchman Lalla Gaddi, Bareilly District Jail Warden Shivhari Awasthi, Canteen Director Dayaram alias Nanhe, jail officials and employees for conspiring, demanding extortion and giving protection, at Bithri Chainpur police station here. Police raiding
SIT and police teams under the leadership of CO Ashish Pratap Singh have left from Bareilly regarding the arrest of Saddam, brother-in-law of Atiq Ahmed’s brother Ashraf. In search of Saddam, raids have been conducted on his hideouts at many places in Bareilly as well. Several teams have been deployed for this.
