UP News: The work of the Yogi government in UP is not hidden from anyone. The state government has decided to build new jails. In view of more prisoners in jails than capacity, now new jails will be constructed in the state. These new jails will be constructed in 11 districts of the state. Along with this, the exercise of construction of one central jail and second jail in nine districts has been intensified.

For information, let us tell you that it includes districts like Chandauli, Auraiya, Amethi, Mahoba, Amroha, Kushinagar, Hathras, Sambhal, Hapur as well as Bhadohi. The construction work of jails in all these districts will be started soon. Along with this, it has been decided to build a new Central Jail in Lalitpur. In fact, the old jail of Bareilly has also got approval for repair and renovation.

Please tell that the capacity to keep prisoners in these jails will be more. Along with this, by the end of March, the district jail with capacity of 2 thousand 688 prisoners in Prayagraj and 502 in Shravasti will be ready. Along with this, the target of construction work of all these new jails has been kept for 2 to 5 years.

Along with this, modern technology will be used to keep an eye on the prisoners in the new jails to be built in the state. There will be facilities like state-of-the-art surveillance system, body worn cameras as well as other technical systems to keep an eye on the prisoners. The dreaded prisoners will be closely monitored in these jails.

At present, this decision has been taken keeping in view the capacity of the jails in the state. Let us tell you that at present the capacity of 74 jails in the state is 62281 prisoners, while about 1 lakh 18 thousand 221 prisoners are being kept in it. In such a situation, the Yogi government has taken this decision to remove the problem of overcrowding.
