Parkash Singh Badal Death: Former Punjab Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patron Parkash Singh Badal passed away on Tuesday. At the age of 95, Parkash Singh Badal breathed his last in a private hospital in Mohali. Meanwhile, the central government announced that state mourning would be observed across India to pay respect to former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. A two-day state mourning has been announced from 26 to 27 April. The national flag will fly at half-mast and there will be no official government entertainment program for these two days.

The last rites of former CM Parkash Singh Badal will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 1 pm in his native village Badal in Muktsar district. Badal’s body will be brought from Mohali hospital at 10 am on Wednesday to the Akali Dal headquarters in Sector 28, Chandigarh, where politicians and others will be able to pay their last respects till 12 noon. After this, his body will be brought to his native village via Rajpura, Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Rampura Phul and Bathinda. He will be cremated here at around one o’clock in the afternoon.

Please tell that Parkash Singh Badal, who was the CM of Punjab for five times, had the distinction of being the youngest Chief Minister in Punjab at the age of 43. Parkash Singh Badal served as the Chief Minister of Punjab from 1970–71, 1977–80, 1997–2002 and 2007–2017. He is survived by his wife Surinder Kaur Badal, son Sukhbir Singh Badal and daughter-in-law Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Badal was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian award, in 2015, but returned the award in December 2020, protesting against the farm laws brought in by the central government.
