Punjab Police has achieved a major success in Khalistan supporter and fugitive Amritpal Singh case. Amritpal Singh’s aide Tejinder Singh alias Gorkha Baba has been arrested. Gorkha Baba is a resident of Khanna’s Mangewal village under Malaud police station. He mostly used to stay with Amritpal. Along with this, he is also named in the violent protest for the release of Lovepreet Toofan in the Ajnala case. Gorkha used to be the gunman of Baba Amritpal Singh.

Internet restrictions lifted in some districts

The Punjab government on Thursday extended the suspension of mobile internet and SMS services in Tarn Taran and Ferozepur districts till Friday. Along with this, these restrictions have been removed in Moga, Sangrur, Ajnala sub-divisions in Amritsar and some areas of Mohali. Internet services were resumed in many parts of Punjab on 21 March.

An order was issued on Monday by the Home Department of the Punjab Government. In this order, the ban on mobile internet services was extended in Tarn Taran and Ferozepur for public safety, to prevent any incitement to violence and to prevent breach of peace.

Remand period of 11 associates of Amritpal extended

Khalistani supporter and Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh’s 11 associates have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. The Punjab Police produced him in the court of Baba Bakala amid heavy security on Thursday afternoon. Here the court ordered to send all the 11 accused to judicial custody. In Amritsar, Shukrguzar Singh, the counsel for the accused, said that in a case related to Amritpal Singh, the Baba Bakala Court has sent 11 accused to judicial custody for 14 days.
