Awantipora Encounter:An encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in Padgampora area of Avantipora in Jammu and Kashmir from Monday night to Wednesday afternoon. In this encounter, the army killed 2 terrorists. Objectionable materials including arms and ammunition have been recovered from these terrorists. Along with this, the search for other terrorists is still going on.
The first terrorist killed in Awantipora has been identified as Aqib Mushtaq Bhatt of Pulwama and the second as Ejaz Ahmed. Aqib Mushtaq was the same terrorist who killed Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma two days back on Sunday. Aqib initially worked for Hizbul Mujahideen. Now he was working closely with TRF.
During the encounter between the security forces and the terrorists, two army personnel were injured, out of which one jawan died during treatment. According to the police, there is news of more terrorists hiding in Avantipora area. The army has completely taken control of the area and the terrorists are being searched.
Let us inform that on last Sunday, bank guard Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma was shot dead by terrorists in Pulwama area. After this, after the information about the terrorists hiding in Padgampora, the security forces took the entire area under their control. After this, teams of police and security forces were continuously engaged in search of terrorists. Meanwhile, the encounter between the terrorists and the security forces started on Monday night. Which lasted till today Wednesday. Two terrorists have been killed in this encounter.
