Russia: Pulkovo airport of St. Petersburg suspended all flights, know the reason

Pulkovo Airport in Russia’s St Petersburg temporarily suspended all flights on Tuesday. No reason for this has been clarified yet, nor has its reason been told yet. The Russian government said on its official Telegram channel that it has suspended all flights at the airport until 12 o’clock local time.

According to media reports, an unknown object was seen in the airspace of Russia and fighter jets were sent to investigate it. Many domestic flights bound for St Petersburg were turning back to their destinations, while flights to the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad were also affected by the airspace closure.
