Rewari news:8,852 acres of land in the Aravali region of Rewari district have been declared a protected forest area by the Haryana government. The government has also issued its statement. Now this area will be entirely wooded and the maintenance of these wooded areas will be in accordance with the Indian Forest Act 1927. DC Mohammad Imran Raza reviewed the Aravalli project along with other officials including the Forest Divisional Officer in the small secretariat auditorium DC Raza said the Haryana government had taken a remarkable and important step towards environmental protection.

The DC said that the Aravalli region is a very important area from an ecological point of view, but since they are not notified under the forest law, these areas are not being properly cared for. Illegal non-forestry work used to take place in these areas, contrary to strict measures under the Forestry Act, but now this area has been designated as a protected forest area. Now, if a person or institution does any kind of non-forest work in these areas and takes action against them under the rules of the Forest Act, the matter goes to the Environmental Court.

DC Raza tasked the Forest Service with making these areas safer and greener. DC said the government’s move will increase the district’s and state’s forest cover from an environmental perspective. People will get a clean environment and it will also come in handy in protecting wildlife.

Work is done towards the environment: DFO:Forest Divisional Officer Sunderlal Sambharia said that due to the fact that the Aravalli forest area is not directly under the Forest Act, it faces many difficulties in its protection and promotion, but in notifying the government, protection and promotion of these areas could be done better No one person or organization will be able to do any type of non-forest work in these areas alone. The DFO advised that rules have now been issued for these areas and no activity will be conducted under these rules without the permission of the Divisional Forest Officer. At the same time, work is being done to increase tree density in the Aravalli forest areas and to protect and conserve water sources.
