Narendra Vats Rewari. A freight train carrying LPG gas from Haryanas Asauda to Rajkot in Gujarat was saved from being blown up at the Rewari railway junction due to the presence of mind of the guard. The leak of LPG from the train’s carriage happened so quickly that it could have caused a serious accident if the train had not been removed in time. After the incident, there was excitement among railway officials at the crossing. The railway authority has launched an investigation into the incident.

A freight train bound for Gujarat with LPG wagons was stopped at the station. Here the driver of the train should be changed. As Ramchand Meena, the train driver, walked towards his bus, he noticed that the gas leakage from car number 12 was very high. He informed the station master and the control room about it. This upset the officials. Control room officials took immediate action and selected New Ateli station, which remained deserted, to stop the train. After that, the train was immediately sent there.

IOC team reached ahead of the train

After receiving information about LPG leaking from the wagon, the IOC teams had reached New Ateli station ahead of the train. All precautions had been taken at the station to deal with the fire brigade and the explosion. Arriving at Ateli, the IOC team stopped the gas escaping from the lid of the wagon.

Gas flowed out of the valve

According to IOC officials, a valve on the cover of one of the wagons was leaking. After that the valve was repaired. After the dummy had been fully adapted, the track administration breathed a sigh of relief. Due to the LPG leakage in the upper part, the gas did not come into contact with sparking, which helped to prevent a serious accident.

Desire to honor the guard

Hari Prakash Prajapati, head of the Train Guard Association, said thousands of passengers were present at the station at the time the gas leak happened. Since the entire area around the station was inhabited by residential areas, there was a possibility of a major accident. He has urged the railroad administration to honor Guard Ramchandra Meena.
