Sonipat: The court convicted the father accused of brutally beating his eight-year-old daughter to death by tying her to a post in Bajana Khurd village of Ganaur police station area. Additional District and Sessions Court Justice Shailendra Singh sentenced the accused to life imprisonment. A fine of Rs 50,000 was also imposed on the perpetrator. If the fine is not paid, the convicted person must expect an additional sentence of six months.
Kapil, a resident of Bajana Khurd village, told Gannaur police station on May 14, 2022 that he heard the cries of a crying girl when he came to Laghushanka in the evening in the plot behind the house of Jaganna alias Jaibhagwan from the village. When he took a look inside Jaganna’s house, he saw Jaganna tying his daughter Tamanna to a stake and beating him with a stick. He also had a plasma in his hand. When he went to Balraj’s house in the village to save the girl, Jaganna dragged the girl into the room. After rescuing the girl, they discovered that she was dead. The accused then fled from there. Following Kapil’s statement, the police registered a murder case. Subsequently, the police arrested the accused Jaganna alias Jaibhagwan. The police confiscated the rod and plasma used in the crime from him. The accused had told the police that he had gone out in the morning on the day of the incident. His wife died two years ago.
He has elder daughter Komal (11), younger Tamanna (8) and son Vansh (6). He was present at home. Just a few days ago he brought 500 chickens with him. When he left the house in the morning, he had asked his daughter Tamanna to give the chickens food and water. When he asked about his return, Tamanna told him that she had forgotten to feed and water the chickens. He became angry about this. He tied Tamanna to a post, beat her with a stick and scratched her waist and legs with a cloth. When the neighbors arrived, he ran away, leaving his daughter in the room. The police produced the accused in court and sent him to jail. While hearing the case, the court of ASJ Shailendra Singh convicted the accused Jai Bhagwan alias Jaganna. The court sentenced the murder accused to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000. If he fails to pay the fine, he will face an additional six months’ imprisonment.
