Small traders with annual turnover of Rs 20 lakh can get free CA certificate for GST registration

As a great relief to small traders in Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal has announced that traders with an annual turnover of Rs 20 lakh can now receive a CA certificate for GST registration free of charge from a state government appointed auditor. The Chief Minister made this announcement at the opening of the Merchant Compensation Scheme organized in Haryana Niwas. The occasion was attended by Haryana Traders Welfare Board Chairman Bal Kishan, as well as members and traders from different parts of the state.

Manohar Lal said that small traders need a CA certificate to register and they have to pay a certain amount for it. According to this announcement, small businessmen whose turnover is up to Rs 20 lakh can get a CA certificate from a government-appointed chartered accountant. These expenses are borne by the state government.

The Prime Minister said that by expanding the scope of the Mukhyamantri Traders Compensation Scheme, run by the state government for the benefit of traders in the state, small traders with annual sales of up to Rs 1.50 billion have now been included in the scheme . This program begins on April 1, 2023.

He said that under this scheme, an amount of compensation would be provided according to the category of the beneficiary for the loss of goods due to fire, accident, natural disaster, etc. The benefit under the program is granted to those merchants who are eligible taxpayers registered under the GST Act of 2017 in the state or central jurisdiction on or after March 31, or the date of registration. These taxpayers should be registered on the system’s online portal. Their registration fee should have been paid to the Haryana Family Security Trust by the stakeholder i.e. the Haryana Traders Welfare Board. Under this scheme, a compensatory amount of up to Rs 20 lakh will be granted for sales up to Rs 1.5 crore.
