Rewari: The intermittent rain for three days continued on Thursday night too. Due to the rain, the maximum temperature started to drop. Because of this, the severity of the cold has increased. Fog has been slowing down vehicles for two days. After the rains, pollution has also decreased somewhat. According to the Meteorological Office, cloudy skies and drizzle are possible for a few more days.

Due to light rain in large parts of the district during the night, dense fog formed in the morning. Rewari section recorded 1 mm rainfall, Manethi 2 mm, Bawal 1, Dahina 2 mm and Kosli section 0.5 mm rainfall. Due to the fog visibility of around 100 meters, the speed of the vehicles slowed down. Vehicle speeds remained very low on all three national roads. When Suryadev appeared around 9 a.m., the fog cleared. Due to the rain, a severe cold is now likely to set in soon. The maximum temperature is between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature has increased by 1 degree Celsius after the rains. After the gap between the two temperatures has narrowed, strong cold showers will occur in the first week of December. On Friday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 24.2 and the minimum temperature at 14 degrees Celsius. The weather office expects the sky to be cloudy and drizzly for the next three to four days. After the weather clears, the night temperature will drop quickly. There is also a risk of frost in the second half of December. On Thursday, due to clear skies, there was bright sunshine until midday, but later it became cloudy again.

Farmers are happy about changing weather conditions

The changed weather conditions and rainfall brought great relief to farmers. Due to the high temperatures until the end of November, there was a risk of a disease outbreak in mustard and wheat plants. The farmers had to irrigate their fields. After the change of weather and rain, farmers are relieved from mustard irrigation for several days. Both wheat and mustard cultivation are expected to benefit from this rain. As the cold gets colder, these plants begin to grow faster.

Minor relief from pollution problem

The problem of increasing environmental pollution after the rains has been somewhat alleviated. Dharuhera’s air quality index was recorded at 273 on Friday morning. It had previously crossed the 300 mark. In order to reduce the level of pollution, continuous water spraying was carried out at the dust dispersion points. The AQI has declined after the rains but has not yet brought much relief. The AQI of the neighboring town of Bhiwadi is still over 300, which is also affecting the area.
