Angered that farmers’ crop insurance policies in villages near Hisar have been reversed and farmers have not received any compensation so far, the farmers have announced that they will erect a concrete frontage at the site of Hisar’s Small Secretariat today. Meanwhile, the farmers also expressed their displeasure at the stop buying mustard.
During this demonstration, organized under the leadership of Pagdi Sambhal Jatta Kisan Sangathan, farmers with trolleys reached the mini-secretariat. Meanwhile, the farmers in front of the gate expressed their displeasure with slogans. In view of the peasants’ demonstration, a large number of police forces were deployed on the premises of the Small Secretariat.
The farmers claimed that when officials from the affected company were summoned by administrators to lodge a complaint with the insurance company, they sent a worker who couldn’t even speak. Farmers said the insurance company withdrew the forms of about 29,000 farmers in the county, finding deficiencies in their forms. This led to a great protest among the farmers. The farmers need bread twice.
