Hisar: Multi-million dollar cyber fraud was committed by a city woman posing as a Mumbai airport customs officer. The accused reclaimed six lakh 85,000 rupees in name of customs duty on behalf of a gift package from the UK. He did not send the gift package to the woman after receiving the money in three installments. Now he wants more money. The woman filed a cyber fraud report with her with the Hisar police. The police took up the case and initiated an investigation.
The woman said she received a phone call on May 9th. The customs officer gave her name to Sunita Sharma. From her language she seemed to be a South Indian. He said your order was coming from the UK, where there are Rs 49,000 in customs duties. You have to pay this duty. At first I thought that relatives and acquaintances live in Great Britain. That’s why someone sent a gift without informing them. I did RTGS in his mentioned account. After that, on May 10th, I received a call again that it was a very large package and you would have to pay more customs for it. The officer asked her for 100,000 rupees, which she paid even though she didn’t want to.
After that, on the third day, May 11th, another call came that you had to pay another amount of 4,000 rupees 50,000 only then you would receive the package. I refused but the officer Sunita Sharma said you had to pay or you would be fined and your accounts would be blocked. When he then came under pressure, he also paid this amount. The amount went to accounts in the name of Rohit Kumar of Bank of Maharashtra and Subhao Bose of Punjab and Sind Bank. The defendants are now demanding an even higher amount than sending you the gift package. The police have started the investigation and registered a case.
