Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said it is the need of the hour that we all start a new agricultural revolution. In this work, scholars from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Maharana Pratap Horticulture University and research institutes should collaborate on research work and advance new genres. They are encouraged to do so. Because of this, farming costs will be reduced in farming, along with good yields, farmers’ income will also increase.

Chief Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh addressed the graduation ceremony of Haryana Krishi Vikas Mela-2023 organized at Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. Minister of Agriculture and Farmers JP Dalal and Minister of City Local Authorities Dr. Kamal Gupta were also present at the event. Earlier, the Chief Minister also visited the Agricultural Equipment and Products Exhibition. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also launched the Underground Pipeline Portal and the E-Rupee App. It is said about Haryana that here is the confluence of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan, Jai Wrestler also joins. Haryana is an agricultural state. We have 2 percent of the population, but the number of youth in the state in the armed forces is 10 percent.

CM said new experiments are being conducted to increase farmers’ income. The government has also formed the Export Promotion Council. In addition, in the near future, the initiative will be taken to start cargo flights from Maharaja Agrasen Airport so that fresh fruits and vegetables from Haryana farmers can be exported to Arab countries. The prime minister urged the scientists at the Agricultural University to conduct research on low-cost, high-yield and produce improved seed varieties. At the same time, appropriate arrangements should be made for the marketing of grain, this work should be carried out by the Marketing Board.

Various types of subsidies are given by the government to promote natural agriculture.

Manohar Lal said that today the quality of food grains is degraded by the overuse of chemicals and pesticides, which needs attention. For this purpose, near-natural management should be assumed. The government gives many kinds of subsidies to encourage natural farming. The Prime Minister reiterated that the groundwater is sinking due to the continuous exploitation of the water. Due to water scarcity, farmers are adopting cash crops which include fruits, flowers, vegetables as well as beekeeping, livestock and fisheries etc.

The Chief Minister said that in terms of time we need to reduce water consumption. Micro-irrigation needs to be implemented for proper use of water. The government grants farmers subsidies of up to 85 percent for micro-irrigation. Drilled wells will also be installed to pump rainwater back into the ground. The farmer only has to pay 25,000 rupees, the rest of the costs are borne by the state. The government will build 1,000 recharge wells in the first phase. He said that in order to eliminate corruption, subsidies and other types of financial support would be sent directly to farmers’ accounts via DBT. About 52,000 rupees were transferred directly to the farmers’ account and because of the transparency, the government saved 1,200 rupees. He said about 80 lakh acres of land can be cultivated in the state, details of every inch of this land are being prepared. To this end, farmers should upload full details of their crops to the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal. He said FPOs would be formed to increase farmers’ income.

It has now been decided that the format of this trade fair will be further expanded in the future. In addition to the Ministry of Agriculture, CII, foreign universities and foreign organizations will also attend this fair in the coming period.” He said that he and the Chief Minister are farmers themselves, and if there is anything to benefit farmers, Haryana is the first in the Country. It will happen. He said that people in previous governments saw farmers as vote banks, but we see farmers as our brothers. Farmers are our food suppliers. It is our aim that our farmer is wealthy and self-sufficient.
