Fatehabad: The body of a Punjab police officer was found in the Bhakra canal that flows near Gorakhpur village on Wednesday. As soon as information about it was received, the police team reached the spot, took the body into custody and sent it to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. When the police contacted the police stations of the Punjab region to identify the deceased, it was found that the deceased employee worked in the Patiala area.
According to the information received, on Wednesday people saw the body of a person at the Duma head of the canal passing near Gorakhpur village and informed the police about it. When the body was brought out, he was wearing the Punjab Police uniform and even had shoes on. During examination, a name tag with ‘Jaswinder Singh’ written on it was found on the uniform and the uniform belonged to the ASI. It is not known how he died. When the police investigated, it was found that Jaswinder Singh was working in Patiala district. The family members were then informed.
