Ambala: Two youths riding bikes died on the spot after being hit by a dump truck filled with mining materials while the third is in a critical condition. He was referred to Chandigarh PGI for treatment. The accident occurred late on Monday evening near Sadikpur village in Shahzadpur police station area. Even after receiving information after the accident, the ambulance did not arrive on time. Due to this, the villagers blocked the Hadbon-Shahzadpur road. The villagers claimed that neither an ambulance nor a police vehicle arrived even two hours after the accident. The villagers kept demanding that the SP be called to the spot until 12 o’clock at night. After getting the information, DSP Narayangarh reached the spot and tried to convince the villagers. As a result, assurances were given that the accused dump truck driver would be arrested soon. The villagers agreed to open the jam only after receiving a concrete assurance late at night.
The deceased are Manga Ram and Vishal from Sadikpur village. His companion Rajneesh is seriously injured. During the blockade, Shahzadpur police station in-charge Suresh Kumar explained to the villagers, but the villagers insisted on calling SP Jashandeep Singh immediately. President of Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan Dharamveer Dhindsa was also there. He warned that the traffic jam could only be resolved once the police caught the driver of the dump truck. However, the DSP had to work hard to convince the villagers. The police took the bodies of the two youths into custody and shifted them to the civil hospital. On Tuesday, both bodies were handed over to relatives after the autopsy. According to police, Manga Ram, Vishal and Rajneesh were returning home on bike around 8pm on Monday evening after working as laborers from Shahzadpur. As they reached near Sadiqpur, they were hit by a speeding tipper truck from Hadbaun. Manga Ram and Vishal died on the spot while Rajneesh was seriously injured. After committing the incident, the dump truck driver fled the scene.
