Timarpur Lake Project: Delhi Jal Board (DJB) vice-chairman Somnath Bharti has said on Wednesday that the Timarpur lake being built under the project will be completed soon, which will be opened for the common people in the month of July. At present the work of this project has been completed about 90 percent, after its construction 15-20 million gallons of water will be recharged everyday. Somnath said these things after inspecting Timarpur lake on Wednesday. Top officers of DJB were also present on the occasion along with the Vice President.
During the inspection, Somnath said that Timarpur lake would become a great tourist destination, facilities like food cafe, open air theatre, auditorium would be available in the lake premises. The same sewage treatment plant is also being built for the artificial lake in an area of about 40 acres. Apart from this, arrangements have been made to recharge the ground water here. Along with this, many tubewells are being installed here for the production of water.

He said that the lake is being developed as a tourist destination. After the opening of the lake complex for the public, along with the beauty of the lake, people coming here will be able to take advantage of facilities like open air theater and step plaza of the seating area. Along with this, a selfie point has also been prepared in the lake premises. Tourists coming here at this selfie point will also be able to enjoy taking selfies amidst the natural beauty.
Apart from the construction of the lake, sewage treatment facilities are also being developed in 5 acres. Under the second phase of this project, a waste water treatment plant is being built in the Timarpur lake complex. Everyday 25 MLD water will be treated in this plant. The treated water from this plant will be used to fill the lake created here and recharge the ground water.
