New Delhi: The Delhi Jal Board has told the consumers to get new water connections that now the water connection will be made only after making a one-time payment. According to DJB, there is no need to make any kind of fee or payment other than one time payment under the three types of categories decided.
DJB has maintained three categories in which the first includes F, G, H and rural villages. For these categories, a new connection will be given on paying a fee of one thousand rupees for domestic connection and two thousand rupees for non-domestic connection. While on the second number is the D and E category, in which two thousand rupees for domestic and four thousand rupees for non-domestic can be taken by depositing a lump sum connection. At the same time, in the third category, there are A, B and C classes, under which the connection will be given on depositing four thousand for domestic connection and eight thousand for non-domestic.
Apart from this, infrastructure charge will also have to be paid as per the property tax applicable by the MCD in the colony category on the property of more than 200 square meters. DJB has said that no payment of any kind will have to be made after these fixed payments. Such as connection fee, meter installation fee, meter fee, labor mechanic fee and charges for the materials used in meter installation will not have to be paid. Everything is already included in the category wise fixed amount to be paid.
DJB has appealed to the consumers not to try to install meters secretly by being misled by someone, it is a crime. Legal action can be taken if caught. Only plumbers appointed by DJB can make connections.
