Mahathug Sukesh Chandrashekhar is lodged in Delhi’s Mandoli Jail. Meanwhile, the officials raided the cell of Mahathug Sukesh Chandrasekhar on Thursday. A video of this has also surfaced. The CCTV footage shows glimpses of Sukesh’s luxury life inside the cell. After this he was seen crying in the jail. In this investigation, the jail officials have recovered Gucci shoes and two jeans. The shoes cost Rs 1.5 lakh and two pairs of jeans cost Rs 80,000.
In this CCTV footage, Sukesh can be seen standing at the corner of his jail cell as officials go through his wardrobe and other belongings. The thug can be seen crying after covering his face after the raiding team leaves the cell. A surprise prison inspection is a routine procedure carried out to recover any contraband material including weapons, narcotics or any other items hidden in the cells of inmates.
Why is Sukesh Chandrasekhar in jail?
Sukesh Chandrasekhar was arrested by the probe agency in 2021 for alleged cheating and extorting money from some wealthy people including persons like Aditi Singh, wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh.
Sukesh is the main accused in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case. Sukesh Chandrasekhar and his wife, actress Leena Maria Paul, were arrested by the ED under the PMLA in connection with an alleged extortion racket being run from prison.
The Enforcement Directorate has questioned several Bollywood actresses and models, including Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi, in this 2021 case over their alleged links with Chandrasekhar.
