Like the government schools of Delhi, now the schools of Municipal Corporation of Delhi will also be made world class. Working on the vision of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to provide quality education to every child of Delhi, the Directorate of Education and the schools of MCD will now work together. In this direction, Education Minister Atishi and Mayor Shaili Oberoi held a joint meeting with MCD Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti, Education Secretary Ashok Kumar along with officials of Directorate of Education, MCD and SCERT to know the action plan of both the departments for the upcoming session. At the same time, Education Director Himanshu Gupta, Education Director Vikas Tripathi, Director SCERT Rita Sharma, Principal Education Advisor Shailendra Sharma and other officers of Directorate of Education, MCD and SCERT were also present in this review meeting.

During the review meeting, Education Minister Atishi said that the Directorate of Education and the MCD will work together to provide quality education to every child of Delhi. He said that teachers of Delhi government schools got training abroad which played an important role in the education revolution. And now there is a need to prepare a roadmap for international training for the teachers of MCD schools as well. With the help of these trainings, the teachers of our MCD schools will gain confidence, they will get world-class exposure so that they can impart world-class education to the children studying in their schools.

Education Minister gave instructions to prepare an action plan for joint training

Regarding the training of teachers, Education Minister Atishi instructed the officials of SCERT to prepare an action plan for joint training for schools of Delhi Government and MCD from the new session. Along with this, he also directed to organize a joint orientation program for the school heads of MCD and Education Department for the new academic session. He said that it would also prove to be a great opportunity for the teachers of both the departments to learn from each other. He said that every year lakhs of children from MCD schools get admission in class 6 in Delhi government schools and to understand the educational needs of these children it is necessary that teachers of Delhi government and MCD schools should be jointly trained. In the meeting, Education Minister Atishi also directed the Directorate of Education, MCD and SCERT to form a joint action group together. He said that these three departments together should form an action group which would work jointly in the field of content and curriculum development, assessment and training of teachers for the children.

Will give quality education to every child – Mayor

Delhi Mayor Shaili Oberoi said that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, there have been spectacular changes in the schools of Delhi Government in the last 8 years. Learning from these changes, we will transform MCD schools into world-class schools in a short span of time and will work to provide quality education to every child. He said that now MCD and Delhi government schools will work together, then we will get to learn a lot from each other and lakhs of children of Delhi will benefit from this.
