Actually, the 21 year old girl is a resident of Janjgir-Champa. But she had come to stay at her aunt’s place in Torwa area of Bilaspur on 13 September. She had gone out for a walk with her friends in the evening. At around 10 pm she was going to her aunt’s house. Then suddenly it stopped midway due to heavy rain. The auto driver was also there at the same place and there were four-five passengers along with him. During this, he also asked the student to sit in the auto and leave home…

While dropping the girl at home, the auto driver said, Auto, I am like your brother, don’t be afraid, I will take you home. After leaving the ride on the way, the auto driver took the girl to a deserted place towards Chhathghat. Then he took her to his room and pressed her mouth and forcefully fed her intoxicating tablets. After this he tried to rape the girl. Meanwhile he called his aunt and friend. Then the auto driver left him and ran away.

As soon as the friend got information about this, he informed the police about this incident and took the student to the hospital. But the girl’s aunt refused to take action. The girl remained hospitalized for three days. On receiving information from the hospital, the police recorded the statement of the student, after which they registered a case against the accused auto driver and started the search.

According to the statement of the student, a case of molestation and attempt to murder has been registered against the accused auto driver. The student told during interrogation that the auto driver is disabled in one leg and eye. Then it came to light that Mohammad Murad Alam alias Chand (38) lives in Devridih. The police searched and arrested him.

Police interrogation revealed that the accused auto driver had an accident five years ago. Two passengers had died in this accident. Apart from this, the auto driver had lost an eye and a leg.
